DisplayLink USB Technology Receives 2 Major AwardsFrom 'Network Products Guide'
LAS VEGAS, Nevada, May 19, 2009 – DisplayLink Corp.’s USB graphics technology has earned both a 2009 Product Innovation Award and a 2009 Best Products and Services Award from Network Products Guide, a Silicon Valley-based publication on information technologies (IT) and solutions. The Company’s award-winning technology will be demonstrated in a variety of monitors, docks and adapters at the Interop 2009 IT tradeshow this week.
In the Product Innovation Awards competition, the guide named the DisplayLink DL-160 wired/wireless USB graphics chip and software as a top technology in the “Wireless USB” category. The DL-160 chip allows people to use a simple USB connection to display high-quality graphics on up to six monitors. DisplayLink technology requires only a DL-160 chip in displays or notebook docking stations and software on the linked PC.
According to the magazine, the annual award “honors vendors from all over the world with innovative and ground-breaking products that are bringing essential and incremental changes and are setting the bar higher for others in all areas of information technology.”
The DisplayLink DL-160 chip also won a Reader Trust Award for “Best in Wireless USB.” The guide’s Best Products and Services Awards competition “honors products and services that represent the rapidly changing needs and interests of the end-users of technology worldwide.” Readers selected DisplayLink’s technology as the Best in Wireless USB through a voting process.
“Innovation is clearly an important factor for greater success and has the most impact on staying competitive,” says Rake Narang, editor-in-chief of Network Products Guide. “Products such as the DisplayLink DL-160 chip and software are bringing improvements in wireless connectivity for computing.”
Network Products Guide is the second major technology publication to recognize DisplayLink in the past six months. The DisplayLink DL-160 USB graphics chip also was named the winner of a 2008 PC Magazine Technical Excellence Award in the graphics category. DisplayLink’s award-winning technology has been embedded in more than 30 consumer and business products, and the semiconductor family has recently been extended with three new chips that can deliver even more performance and power to USB graphics applications – the DL-125, DL-165 and DL-195.
