Installer --------- The DisplayLink software uninstaller is currently not localised. Usability --------- Accelerated mouse movements may be seen with certain third party mice (2555). Performance when displaying authentication dialog is sub optimal on DisplayLink displays (2677). Occasionally background colours are shown incorrectly on a DisplayLink display (2606, 2702). Some display settings in Universal Access (e.g. 'White on Black') have no effect on DisplayLink displays (2373). Colour calibration does not work on DisplayLink displays (2374). Performance when using spaces in Leopard is sub-optimal (2561). The DisplayLink device may not appear if the DisplayLink display is primary and others are mirroring (2772). DisplayLink displays may not resume after reconnection (2595, 2775, 2589, 2627). Display Preferences -------------------- Rotating a DisplayLink display may induce redraw issues at certain resolutions (2676, 2498). Display preferences dialog may not be redrawn when turning off mirroring (2694). If the DisplayLink display is primary, it may not be possible to enable mirroring (2696). Display preferences settings may change unexpectedly (2675, 2650). Display settings are not remembered when logging out or changing accounts (2599, 2665). Display settings are remembered when they shouldn't be (2783, 2770). Unsupported monitor modes may be present when using a DisplayLink device on some monitors (2594). No "stretched resolutions" are available on DisplayLink displays (2638). It may not be possible to successfully extend/mirror with certain DisplayLink docks (2696, 2727). Power Management ---------------- DisplayLink displays may not resume from sleep (2681, 2741, 2750). DisplayLink displays may not resume after opening a closed laptop lid (2106). DisplayLink devices may not respond whilst a screensaver is active (2765). Changing User ------------- System may freeze if the user fast user switches to another account (2624). User may witness redraw issues when fast user switching (2648). Login Window may not appear when selected (2686). Older DisplayLink devices may not function after logging in post logging out (2777) Monitors -------- Apple Cinema displays are only supported in their native resolution (preferred mode), due to limitations in their hardware. For 20" displays this means that they work only at 1680x1050; only DisplayLink products that support up to 1680x1050 resolutions will therefore work with these displays. 23" Apple Cinema displays have a native resolution of 1920x1200 and there are currently no DisplayLink products that will support this resolution, the same is true of the 30" displays with a native resolution of 2560x1600. This is a limitation of Apple Cinema displays and is not specific to DisplayLink hardware (2560). If two displays with the same name are DisplayLink connected, the resolution list in the Menu Bar will show "Display 2, Display 3, ...". The Display Preferences will correctly show the name of the each DisplayLink connected display. (2630). If a monitor that supports EDID is swapped for a monitor that does not support EDID, the resolution list may not get refreshed (2692). Older monitors with EDIDs that are out of spec may not respond correctly (2558). Applications ------------- VMWare operating systems don't release the DisplayLink display when switching back to Mac OSX (2268). To get around this issue, having switched back to Mac OS X from VMWare, disconnect and reconnect the DisplayLink display System Preferences crashes - if open - when unplugging a DisplayLink display (2576, 2615). QuickTime movie window is not redrawn when another window is moved over it (2639). OpenGL\Quartz\Hardware acceleration Issues (2487) ------------------------------------------------- Note: Applications that require Quartz\OpenGL\hardware acceleration support will likely exhibit problems with this version of DisplayLink software. Some problems can be avoided by making sure the DisplayLink display is not set to be the main display (the display with the menu bar). If an application refuses to launch when a DisplayLink display is present, try to disconnect all the DisplayLink displays, then launch it and then reconnect the displays. Specific issues are described below: Cover flow (Leopard) view in Finder sometimes displays corruption on a DisplayLink display set as primary (2515). DVD player moves from extended DisplayLink display back to main screen (2403). Frontrow does not playback DVDs on a DisplayLink displays in Mirror mode (2321). GoogleEarth does not always load terrains when it is on a DisplayLink extended display (2111). iMovie displays message about an incompatible graphics card when launched with a DisplayLink display connected (2107 & 2363). iPhoto causes DisplayLink screen to blank when playing a photo slideshow (2117). Keynote embedded quicktime movie won't display on extending DisplayLink display (2552). Keynote won't run if DisplayLink display is primary (2485). OpenGL screensavers will not display on a DisplayLink display, these include: -Arabesque -Shell -Spectrum -Word of the day -RSS Visualizer (2544 & 2341) PhotoBooth won't run if DisplayLink display is primary (2484). VLC player crashes when DisplayLink display is primary (2528). The zoom function in Google Earth can be jerky and unusable on a DisplayLink display (2486). Backdrops won't run on a DisplayLink display (2361). iChat windows blanks if resized with effects applied (2529). Aperture crashes when opening large images on a DisplayLink display (2641). Cannot enter full screen mode on extending DisplayLink display whilst using iChat Video Chat (2530). Cannot enter full screen mode/resize window on extending DisplayLink display with Skype video (2531). Full screen mode not possible using Parallel's Desktop on extending DisplayLink display (2619). Mosaic display style screensaver won't run on extending DisplayLink display (2668). FrontRow does not load on primary DisplayLink display (2307). Other applications that rely on 3D hardware acceleration may display warnings or may show incorrect behaviour.
