DisplayLink demonstrates World First dual 4K monitors running over  USB 3.0 at Interop Las Vegas 2014.

PALO ALTO, Calif., – April 1st, 2014 – DisplayLink®, the leading provider of USB Graphics technology, today announced plans to show Dual 4K displays running over USB 3.0 utilizing their award winning DL-5500 solutions at Interop 2014. A world’s first, this demonstration shows what is now possible on PC’s that do not natively support 4K, let alone dual 4K, and further proves the flexibility and performance of DisplayLink’s latest chipsets and software.

“Sophisticated compression algorithms that deliver a no-compromise user experience are at the heart of DisplayLink’s IP and are especially critical as monitor resolutions grow.” Said John Cummins, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing.

“Just a few years ago, many thought HD resolution over USB was impossible, but today we’re proud to demonstrate two 3840x2160 resolution monitors connected over USB 3.0 to a single host notebook via two Universal Graphics Adapters based on DisplayLink’s newest DL-5500 chipset.”

The universality of USB enables IT and businesses a seamless way to flexibly provision notebook and tablet connectivity and expansion. Further, DisplayLink’s latest DL-5000 family of UHD capable chips are fully backwards compatible with our existing DL-3000 enabled products making expansion as easy as adding an additional DisplayLink enabled ‘Plug-and-Display’ device.

The demonstration is running live at Interop Las Vegas 2014 and is based on multiple DL-5500 enabled bus-powered Universal Graphics Adapters showing dual 3840x2160 resolution monitors connected using USB to a host notebook,.
