    DisplayLink is currently searching for a Product Manager reporting to the Director of Marketing. This position is critical to maintain DisplayLink’s position as the undisputed market leader in the growing USB Graphics market especially through the transition to USB 3.0 (“Superspeed USB”). The Product Manager will also be intimately involved in DisplayLink’s entry into other markets beyond USB connected devices.

    Objective/Purpose:

    The Product Manager will be responsible for managing a family of DisplayLink chip and software products  from initial conception, through product launch, and to end-of-life. This person will be required to interact regularly with engineering, sales, and marketing teams, as well as customers worldwide, and juggle competing requirements to ultimately ensure that DisplayLink products stay competitive and meet or exceed customer expectations.

    Up to 25% travel (primarily to the US and Asia) may be required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Effectively communicate customer requirements to internal teams and work closely with engineering and project management to guide development of DisplayLink products.
    • Determine and clearly communicate development priorities based on an understanding of internal development constraints, the USB Graphics market, and customer requirements.
    • Be the expert and go-to-person for DisplayLink product information and positioning.
    • Compile and distil product requirements to create clear and concise marketing requirements documents (MRDs) to initiate product development.
    • Perform competitive analysis and become an expert on the competition’s product offering.
    • Drive the creation of marketing collateral and deliver product training to the worldwide DisplayLink Sales team.

    Essential Skill Set

He or she will be comfortable working with simulation and emulation platforms in advance of ASIC availability combined with strong skills in prototyping, implementation, debugging and hardware bring-up.

    Principle tasks will be will be to write device drivers as stand alone applications or within embedded operating systems for DisplayLink’s next generation of chips. Experience of writing and delivering device drivers within constrained environments is essential. The successful candidate will have demonstrated these skills by being a key player in the specification and implementation of new embedded platforms.

                 Experience of full ASIC development life cycle – 3/4 successful chip implementations

    Proven experience of DFT implementation  and experience of VHDL and Verilog.  Modelsim is preferred.

     

    FPGA support

    Experience in maintaining a FPGA verification platform working with the software team to ensure required builds are available on schedule. ASIC verification experience using FPGA platforms is required as is experience of writing constraints. Experience with Synopsys HAPS is very beneficial.

The successful applicant will be able to write robust, reliable code that is appropriate for consumer products, whilst also being able to turn around new designs rapidly during the prototyping phase.     Very good team work skills, fluent English language and great communication skills are essential for us. Also past experience of participating in Agile projects and understanding of computer graphic programming would be a plus.

    The Release Coordinator will be a central role in the software release and test function for DisplayLink.
    The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating the delivery and execution of core software releases.
    The person will also be the main point of contact for any issues relating to the status of a software release, and (if necessary) will be responsible for ensuring that an appropriate response is coordinated utilizing both development and system test engineers. 
    The role is best suited to a capable Technical Project Manager who has progressed from a previous software development role and who has experience in delivering software releases, ideally to the mass market.
    The applicant must have exceptional communication skills, and be able to effectively communicate the status of the current software release, the system test activities, and high priority bugs, and the actions being taken to resolve key bugs to various functions within the company. They must also be comfortable presenting information in a suitable format to end customers, if necessary.
    The Release Coordinator will be expected to contribute to the planning phase for the delivery of releases. However, they will mainly oversee the day to day work of a small team of test and development engineers, ensuring that the release is on track and that key issues are being successfully addressed. The successful applicant will therefore need good team coordination and management skills. The person will also need to coordinate with other engineering teams who may be delivering features or fixes into a release, and ensure the deliverables are on time and to a high quality.
    This role involves handling some technically involved and complex issues.  It is not expected that the Release Coordinator will resolve such issues directly, rather working and coordinating with a capable technical team. However,  the successful candidate must have a proven technical ability (preferably from a software development background) and be able to rapidly understand and effectively communicate complex technical issues to people of widely differing technical experience.
    The Release Coordinator will need to work successfully with other functions (including Marketing, Customer and Sales support) on the delivery of releases, in particular, taking input on bug prioritization, risks and release delivery dates.
    The role will be split roughly equally across the following activities:

    • Planning of release tasks and coordination of development and test engineers in the release team, ensuring the release is on track with appropriate quality.

    • Defining and implementing methods and processes for efficient software release testing and delivery.
    • Effectively communicating the status of the release, ensuring any issues are made visible to key stakeholders
    • Coordinating Beta programs; monitoring user forums; and managing other sources of direction for forthcoming releases, etc
